Amy Jam and the Journey of Self-Actualization Leading to Success in Business

My goal is to empower individuals to build financial stability and independence, freeing them from the cycle of living paycheck to paycheck. I’ve been in that position myself, and I understand the frustration of seeing all your hard-earned money disappear towards bills before you even get a chance to enjoy it. My mission is to provide the tools and guidance necessary for others to break free from this cycle and take control of their financial futures.

From my early days as a software engineer, to endless simultaneous side-hustles, to my current role as a director of program management, each step has been marked by challenges, epiphanies, and an unwavering commitment to driving positive change. And of course, sprinkled in between the milestones are the occasional flaming turds of life that help teach you those valuable yet detested “life lessons.”

My odyssey into the world of technology sprouted from a simple love for problem-solving and a curiosity about the inner workings of computers and software. Spending countless hours tinkering and experimenting, I laid the groundwork for a career characterized by perpetual learning and evolution. From debugging code at 3 a.m. to grappling with the intricacies of complex systems, every challenge became an opportunity to deepen my understanding and refine my skills.

As my journey progressed, I found myself wearing various hats within the software development lifecycle, gaining invaluable insights into every aspect of the process. This diverse experience made transitioning into program management a natural evolution. In this role, I became adept at bridging the gap between technical experts and less-technical stakeholders, translating complex information into actionable strategies, a “tech whisperer” of sorts.

Venturing beyond the confines of the tech world, I delved into the equally dynamic realm of entrepreneurship, embarking on ventures in real estate investment and bakery ownership. With a blend of strategic foresight and optimism, I navigated the intricacies of property markets across Maryland, Virginia, and Los Angeles. These ventures weren’t just about securing financial gains; they were about contributing to vibrant communities and fostering connections. Co-founding Bread Bros, a beloved bread manufacturer and bakery in the heart of Los Angeles, became a testament to the power of diversification and resilience in pursuit of personal and professional fulfillment. Because let’s face it, who can resist the allure of success—especially when it smells like freshly baked bread?

Throughout my varied experiences, I’ve cultivated expertise not only in technology and business but also in the realms of coaching and leadership. If I could leave you with just two tips it would be

1. We have a saying in the Persian culture, “You don’t make any sounds when you clap with just one hand.” That can be applied in business and in life as well. It’s so important to build layers into your business, career, and goals. Also diversify and don’t put all your bread in one basket. Take baby steps and dive into other projects while sustaining your main source of income. Having a back up for your back up is key.

2. Learn continuously. Make it a point to exercise those brain cells and learn something new about an area you’re not familiar in. Learn and then execute what you’ve learned to form your own opinions on what could potentially be of interest and of alignment to your success-filled future.

My journey stands as a testament to the transformative potential of perseverance, innovation, and a sprinkling of sarcasm along the way. As I navigate life’s ever-changing landscape, I’m driven by a desire to share my insights and experiences, coaching others to thrive and establish a solid foundation for their lives. Because true success isn’t just about reaching goals; it’s about embracing the journey and empowering others to do the same. My journey has taught me the importance of leadership in navigating the complexities of any project—especially the most important project of all: our lives.
